Round and Round We Go. Where We’ll Stop, Nobody Knows.
Hey there,
We make, all of us, decisions which lead us up, down, across and though myriad paths. Some of us find the streets paved with gold while others beat the dusty road, forever hoping to reach an unattainable end of the rainbow. More than often though it seems, we forget to look around at what’s already there. We focus on the horizon and forget the bits around us that are treasure if we’d only care to notice. I’ve been guilty of the latter state and of late, I am trying my best to bend down and sift through what seems like dirt to reveal millions of little diamonds on their way to becoming beautiful, crafted, honed jewels.I have spent most of my life powering forward and while I have certainly been so lucky and had many chances, more recently I have stopped to smell the flowers.
My job, as you’ll know by now, involves my working with artists on their records. I write songs and produce music, caring for it deeply, reveling in the surprise of how it seems at times to work for no other reason than the fact that it just does.
Here is where I want to tell you about one such gem stone I happened upon on my way. Under the dust of the many crushed silicon bodies of artists and musicians who have gone through the wheels of the shit machine and thusly been spat out the arse end of it, I found a diamond called Carina Round. She is bursting with life and a brilliant ability to capture it. Light goes in and gets magnified by her, her voice and her music. I was lucky enough to have had the chance to write with her for her new EP which will be out soon. I implore you all, if you buy one string of musical bytes this year, buy this. When it’s ready I’ll tell you more about it and give you links galore. Go make friends with her. Love her for she is rare and the world needs her.
I should have waited to tell you more but I can’t. I am impatient with excitement for what this is and what it will be. Go and get a giant sharpie and mark my words; we know her by the sound of her voice. All hail Carina Round.
With love (and dust in my hair),
J x

I cannot even begin to express what I think about “Time of our Lives” with PVD.
Let me give you a bit of background here so you can understand where I’m coming from.
I have a degree in recording music but never did a thing with it (that’s a whole other story). Music has been more than just music for me. I have never been able to find the exact words to express the impact, the force music has in my life. Music alone is what saved and sustained me as I was growing up and still does today. It’s impact is very personal to me and I have yet to find anyone that understands and can share this experience this with me.
I was not blessed with any musical ability with the exception of being able to write about it on a level that is astonishing (to me anyway).
When I hear a certain song, I feel like my body, my soul, is in a state of rapture, that it will explode. I physically shake. That is what music does to me. It’s a force that most can’t even begin to understand except on a basic level. That is okay, we are all “moved” by music, I don’t want to underplay it’s impact on the lives of others, how it feeds us, moves us, and brings us together. Music is a powerful force for all of us to reckon with.
That being said, my soul is very selective as to what really rocks it. I have a wide selection of taste in music and enjoy just about everything, but there are those songs that hit a place in me that is electric.
“Time of our lives” has done that for me. While I have searched out your work with Vega4, I won’t say I’m not impressed, it’s good, but PVD found a song that has pushed your singing to an unbelievable level. This song seems to have taken your voice to another level, one not found in your work with Vega4. It’s almost like you are reserved or holding back on some level with your other songs. And yet with “Time” something has happened, something changed. It is amazing. I can only hope that you will venture out more with your voice and really share with us the true power that is there.
My intention here is not to offend in any way. When I meet people, my only goal is to help them be the best they can be. You are talented. Reach out and explore what you have to offer. Take chances, step out of your comfort zone. You have amazing things to offer. I just had to share that which has moved me so much. Thank you:)
(Now this is kind of random but I do believe in conscious coincidences. I like the fingerprints in your art work. I am currently studying to be a latent fingerprint examiner.)
“Behold an experience so long awaited for
Never imagined
How it overwhelms you
Exploiting in movement
what your soul feels
The whining of the guitar
is your soul crying out
There are no words that can express
Your soul contracts
and lashes back out
Behold no boundaries
Behold an escape into music”

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Take care and the best of luck in your musical journey.
